Treasure Hunts
Overview These are exhilarating ways to allow teams to develop the areas of communication, problem solving, trust and leadership. The setting of an unfamiliar environment encourages teams to work together and provides them with the opportunity to bond and explore their capabilities. Absolutely Scotland Treasure hunts are an ideal tool used by many businesses to encourage team development. They are also great fun for participants!
4x4 The 4x4 treasure hunt involves cryptic puzzles, physical challenges and nature trails. Teams are allocated a 4x4 vehicle with instructor. With map and clue schedule teams set off on the course with the aim of gathering as many points as possible. Each member of the team will have the opportunity to drive the 4x4, however there will be some points, where due to the extreme nature of the terrain, the instructor will take over driving responsibility. Along the way there will be a hidden clay pigeon stand and archery stand to gain extra points. The winner is the team with the most points gathered.
Fugitive Teams are given a map, compass and clue schedule. The map contains the location of a series of tasks that have to be over come in order to proceed to the treasure. The tasks are cryptic puzzles, physical challenges and mental challenges. Points are awarded for successful completion of each task, these can, in turn be swapped for a series of code breaking numbers that will be required to break the code to obtain the treasure. The first to break the code get the prize!!
Scrabble The game is simple; make the highest scoring word or phrase and you are the winner! To obtain the letters teams need to search for and gather them with the aid of a map and compass. There are a maximum of 26 letters to collect. Each letter holds a different score and teams only have a map and compass to identify the location of the letters.
GPS Using Map and a GPS set, teams set off into the unknown. Following co-ordinates on the GPS, teams are required to find as many stations on the hill as is possible. Participants will be required to answer cryptic and general knowledge questions in order to gain points. The team who returns with the most points is the winner!
Michelangelo Code You are dropped behind enemy lines in the wilds of our huge Activity Centre, high above Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, with no idea of where you are or where you will end up. Your team’s mission is to track down the location of the Michelangelo Code by following a series of clues.
The journey to the code’s location is full of perils. Your team will need to find and steal a Landrover in order to obtain vital clues, build a bridge in order to cross a river and survive hidden paintball snipers, amongst other exciting adventures. When you reach the code’s location, you must break into the safe and snatch the Michelangelo Code. Your sealed orders can then be opened and reveal your final challenge…….
Land Rover Challenge The task is simple. Over come the challenges set by the three main disciplines in order to gain as many points as possible. The three main disciplines are Reverse-Steer Land Rover, 4x4 Off Road Land Rover and Blindfold Land Rover. There are time restrictions for each discipline and a few hidden surprises along the way. The team with the most points wins.
Water Based Treasure Hunt This is an exhilarating way for teams to develop or friends to compete. Based on the shores of Loch Venachar teams will set out on the water to find as many clues as possible. Equipped with map and clue schedule teams will need to have their wits about them not only to find the clues but also take charge of the boat. Teams will be fully equipped with life jackets; will be trained to use the motor boat and there will be a safety boat on the water at all times. This is an ideal activity for teams who are looking for something slightly different. |
