Staying Safe Outdoors in the Cold

When it comes to team building in Scotland, our team of specialists know just how to keep the fun times rolling while generating motivational corporate events and activities to help promote team building and create the “ultimate stress free zone”.

While we are always on point in keeping on top of weather changes and the potential dangers that can be caused throughout the autumn season, there are of course certain things that you can do to make sure you keep you and your team safe and comfortable. With the shortening days and chillier nights, it pays to be vigilant.

Dress Accordingly

While we provide a lot of the gear you will require for partaking in our activities, it pays to use your commonsense when it comes to keeping yourself comfortable throughout autumn. Gloves and hats are a must, while waterproofs can also be a necessity; don’t get caught out in the inconsistent weather that autumn likes to bombard you with – you need to keep dry and warm! To dress with a disregard for the weather can mean that you can suffer anything from a cold to bronchitis.

Walk Carefully

The weather likes to make things slippery this time of year, even when it isn’t covered in ice. All it takes is for the smallest bit of rainfall and everything from fields to pavements can suffer the slippy-treatment. Of course, when it is icy, everything from off-piste walking to the beaten track can become an ice rink. Our guides are great at spotting such issues, but that doesn’t mean you don’t need to be vigilant!

Drive Carefully

On your way up to our team in Scotland, make sure that you are keeping you and your team safe on the road. Ice and slippy patches aren’t always sign posted or marked out so it is essential to keep your wits about you. If the weather is simply too hazardous to drive up, don’t risk it! We’re going nowhere!

When it comes to autumn, there are a lot of things you need to approach differently, so just make sure you are keeping your eyes peeled. Equally, don’t get caught out in the cold without the appropriate gear; if you need something, tell us! We won’t bite – like the frost might – so just let us know.
