FISHING on Scotland's Rivers and
Lochs
The Scottish rivers and lochs have always
epitomised the very best of inland fishing and angling. Stunning scenery,
rushing streams, silent pools, hidden lochs and the all-pervading silence - you
could be light years from the worries and bustle of modern life.
Absolutely Scotland offers fishing throughout
Scotland but we particularly recommend our Highland rivers and lochs. Only a
couple of hours drive from the Central Belt of Scotland, we offer fishing
on the River Truim (a tributary of the Spey), the renowned River Spey
itself and four Hill Lochs, one of which is stocked. There is plenty of water on
the river beats to suit all tastes - fast flowing or slow running, great rocky
falls and large holding pools. Here, the true fisherman finds diverse challenges
and a surprising variety of sport.
While the rivers yield Brown Trout, Sea Trout and
the mighty Salmon, the hill lochs can be fished for Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout,
Arctic Char and the fearsome Pike. Access to the rivers is easy by car with
adequate parking. The banks retain the full flavour of country fishing. Several
stretches are wooded or very rocky and may require reasonable agility whilst
others are open with easy footpaths along the banks. The hill lochs are reached
by rough estate roads and, although not absolutely essential, the use of a
four-by-four is certainly recommended. Boats are available for hire and both
trolling and bank fishing are allowed.
Fishing Adventure Days
Fishing Adventure Days are designed for small
groups up to ten, perhaps of mixed abilities, who wish to tackle a variety of
different waters in a single day. These make perfect events for family, club or
corporate days out in lovely countryside. Your ghillie introduces you to a
series of different stretches of water, each with its own challenges and remains
on hand to prevent you getting into trouble. If necessary, all equipment can be
hired and tuition provided. A full catering service - including Elevenses, Lunch
and an Evening Barbecue with prize giving - is available.
Highland Fishing Safaris
Our Safaris are based in Kingussie and Newtonmore
in the Highlands with a wide variety of fishing on different stretches of the
Rivers Spey and Truim and on our hill lochs. Although fishing is the central
theme, this is supported by other ways to enjoy the Highland countryside -
including other wildlife, plantlife, walking and photography - for this is the
land of the Eagle, Red Deer, Otter and much more. If you are lucky, you may even
share your fishing waters with an Osprey - notorious for his disregard of fishing regulations! The Safaris can run for
anything from three days up to a week and we can promise to fill every day for
you! Accommodation is available in traditional Highland Country Lodges or
at fine local hotels. Groups may be from ten upwards as we can split parties to
tackle different activities on different days. A senior gamekeeper, assisted by
ghillies as required, ensures that the programme is designed to maximise the
fullest enjoyment of your whole party.

Fishing: Absolutely Anywhere! For the truly dedicated
game fisher, we can arrange fishing on many well-known beats in Scotland. For
many, they are a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will never be forgotten.
From time to time, we arrange Blue Water Game Fishing trips to Kenya. The sport
is excellent . . . . and so is the weather! We also arrange fishing trips
to Iceland, Mexico and the Bahamas - sea, sun, sand, solitude and sport -
what more could you ask for! If you wish to take part in any of these, please
register your interest with us.
