Mini Highland Games

The setting is all you would expect with pipers, instructors clad in kilts and plenty of that renowned Highland hospitality - all, of course, against the stunning backdrop of the finest Scottish Scenery.
These games can also be held at the site of your choice.

CABER TOSSING
Skill and strength are needed to throw the caber (a tree trunk) for it to land correctly. Cabers of various sizes and weights would be available

 

HAGGIS HURLING
Bred and raised in our Haggarium, these upwardly mobile creatures are perfect for throwing at the target Scotsmen

 

ARCHERY
In search of Robin Hood! Using the finest of equipment and with expert tuition on hand, team members attempt to amass the highest possible score

 

FLY CASTING
Introducing the most skilled art of casting a fishing fly at targets. Using both Salmon and Trout tackle, tuition is at hand with points awarded for accuracy and technique

 

TARGET GOLF
A test of golfing accuracy: pitching or putting from various distances at flags encircled within a score zone. Next stop, St Andrews!

 

SHOT PUTT
Trying to throw steel balls of various weights into the scoring zones

 

 

THE MALT CHALLENGE
After spinning fifteen times around a pole. You collect a club to hit the bottle of whisky hanging from a nearby tree. Sound easy? Time penalty involved

 

TUG-O-WAR
The ultimate test of strength, strategy and skill as your selected team works together to overcome the opposition. A great teamwork activity

 

BAGPIPE PLAYING
This ancient instrument has been played for years.  Now you have the chance to make and marvel at its unmistakeable sound . . . or do you?

 

 

WELLY HURLING
This event is not quite so old, but skill is still needed to hurl the welly boot to the target zone. (Remember to keep upwind!)

 

CLAN SONG
The clan (your group) must make up its own song and then sing it at the end of the games. Lots of points available for this event.
