PAINTBALL COMMANDO
Paintball has developed into a well-organised, exciting and expanding sport.

Two teams pit their wits against each other, planning their strategies and trying to out-think and out-flank the opposition. The day is played over various game scenarios, in mixed woodland with many sites offering undulating terrain, purpose built forts, bridges, towers, villages, mazes and speedball arenas - even a real Abbot tank can be involved. Just imagine the sheer excitement of moving through the woods and undergrowth searching for the opposition's HQ, deep within enemy territory.

Safety is paramount. On arrival you are issued with an approved safety mask specifically designed for paintball, coveralls and other items of equipment. A comprehensive safety briefing will be given at the start of the day - before you are even allowed to touch a paintball gun and, for everyone's enjoyment, our rules are vigorously enforced!

Simulated Game Shooting

Scotland has long been the definitive destination for fast and challenging game shooting. The combination of wide open countryside, wild moors and hills, temperate climate, good light, skilful game husbandry and easy access has been recognised by sportsmen the world over since Victorian times. However, all-important conservation measures and specialisation by many estates make it almost impossible to enjoy the whole range of different types of shoot in the same day. Primarily intended for experienced shots, our Simulated Game Shoots have been carefully developed over many years to condense a varied and enjoyable range of shooting action into a single day - without any of the restrictions of closed seasons.

Simulated Deer Stalking

Absolutely Scotland's Simulated Deer Stalking is suitable for much smaller groups. Armed only with a camera (with telephoto lens) and a powerful telescope and accompanied by an experienced stalker, you take to the hills in search of Britain's largest land mammal, the Red Deer . . . Monarch of the Glen! Using centuries-old traditions of stalking and mountaincraft, you stalk and manouvre your quarry for the finest photo-shot. You need to be fairly fit and able to withstand the rigours of the mountains but this can be one of the most rewarding days of a lifetime. And, of course, there will be opportunities to photograph other mountain wildlife - from the blue hare to the mighty eagle.

Fishing

The Scottish rivers and lochs have always epitomised the very best of inland fishing and angling. Stunning scenery, rushing streams, silent pools, hidden lochs and the all-pervading silence - you could be light years from the worries and bustle of modern life.

Absolutely Scotland offers fishing throughout Scotland but we particularly recommend our Highland rivers and lochs in the Central Highlands. Only a couple of hours drive from Edinburgh and Gasgow, we can provide fishing on the River Truim (a tributary of the Spey), the renowned River Spey itself and a number of isolated hill lochs, some of which are stocked. There is plenty of water on the river beats to suit all tastes - fast flowing or slow running, great rocky falls and large holding pools. Here, the true fisherman finds diverse challenges and a surprising variety of sport. While the rivers yield Brown Trout, Sea Trout and the mighty Salmon, the hill lochs can be fished for Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char and the fearsome Pike. If you are lucky, you may even share your fishing waters with an Osprey - notorious for his disregard of fishing regulations! Expert ghillies are on hand to provide helpful advice, tuition and assistance.

The hill loch fishing is suitable for parties of ten or more and can include a lochside barbecue and even a Malt Whisky Tasting! Boats are available for hire and both trolling and bank fishing are allowed.

Golf - The Blue Chip Challenge

Absolutely Scotland has teamed up with some of the best golf courses and golfing hotels in the world to provide the golfing experience of a lifetime right here in the home of golf. Whilst excellence is paramount, exclusivity and informal companionship are essential keynotes. The overall experience is complete in all respects.

The "Blue-Chip" Challenge is an incredible five day event for five parties (or teams) each of four golfers. You play six different courses (3 famous championship courses and 3 challenging country courses) over five days, spending each night in a different location. Most of the hotels are small, exclusive and intimate - all are owned or managed by enthusiastic golfers and all are renowned for the quality of their food and the breadth of their cellars. All your transport and transfer arrangements are taken care of with helicopter flights (or luxury coach/limousine) between locations to show the magnificent scenery at its heart-stopping best. Your host for the night will take you to the next course and arrange for your luggage to accompany you to your next overnight stay.

The "Blue-Chip" Challenge is both an individual and team event. The player with the lowest overall scorecard wins the handsome Blue Chip trophy, hand-crafted in Scottish Crystal. Each member of the team (or party) with the lowest aggregate score, wins a smaller version of the trophy. Every player receives a "Blue Chip" Challenge wall plaque, an exclusive crystal mini-decanter set with two glasses and a bottle of excellent "Blue Chip" single Highland malt whisky - aged for 15 years and only available to players of the Challenge.

Companies are invited to enter one or more teams of four players. Alternatively we will be pleased to stage a private Challenge for your company.

NAVIGATION DAYS

These are not speed events! But they are great fun all year round and suitable for all ages. Using Map, Clue Schedule, your Wits and (optionally) a GPS set, you and your team set off into the unknown. Each quest starts with a safety briefing and instruction on basic orienteering and GPS techniques. Solid teamwork combined with flashes of individual inspiration keeps everyone on their toes as the day continues.

We offer a number of Quests:
On the Run - tracking and apprehending a mobile fugitive through city streets or open countryside.
Absolutely Scotland Quaich - following a series of cryptic clues to this fabled treasure .
Cache-and-Dash - following a series of pre-set GPS points arranged to cover any expanse of terrain from a field to several square miles of country or town .
The Human Sheep - guiding your blindfolded colleague (on foot or quadbike) through a series of "gates" and into a pen. Using GPS equipment, the "sheep" is out of view from the "shepherd" Along the way, there may be the option of one or more additional disciplines to conquer - Clay Pigeon Shooting, Archery, Golf Ball Driving, Bridge or Raft Building, Initiative Competitions, Pony or Quad Bike Trekking, Land Rover "Gymkhana" Stages, etc, etc. - with valuable points to be won or lost in your ultimate quest. Routes are designed specifically for the type (and length) of event that you require and can take place on country roads, town roads, entirely off-road (subject to location) or a combination of these. Some events are suitable for relatively restricted locations. Teams may operate on foot, on quadbikes, private cars, four-wheel drives (with driver/instructor), mountain bikes or even horseback and all events are part navigation skill, part cryptic problem solving and part team-work. Most are adaptable to suit for all ages and tastes. They may be designed around a full day or a half day whichever fits your schedule and, of course, can include hospitality, catering and entertainment. Whatever you choose, an entertaining day of exploration, achievement and great fun is assured.
